Red Sox and Applesauce

A couple of weeks ago, Mike stopped and picked apples on his way home from the golf course. It's been busy here so we haven't had a chance to make applesauce. Until tonight.
Mike is watching the Red Sox in the first game of the World Series against the Rockies and cooking up a storm. He doesn't do much in the kitchen, generally speaking, but he always makes applesauce in October.
What a warm, sweet smell. What a promise for mid-winter comfort from the freezer. Mike eats homemade applesauce with potato chips. I have no idea what that's about. Go Sox.

  1. Awww, hearing about this makes me miss fall in VT even more! Homemade applesauce is so yummy and is such a sentimental activity. I hope you save some for when we are home in Thanksgiving! It's okay frozen- then defrosted, of course, not as good as fresh, but it will do! And potato chips dipped in applesauce are actually kinda good- the whole salty and sweet thing, ya know? :)
